SASTRA New Zealand Chapter begins its journey through a strategic partnership with LYFE (Live Your Future Experience), a social enterprise established as a pilot project under the University of Auckland. LYFE was created to act as a bridge between high school students and industry, offering micro‑internships that connect young learners with real‑world experiences. By collaborating with stakeholders across the public and private sectors, LYFE equips students with practical exposure to career pathways and prepares them to thrive in New Zealand’s workforce and economy.

At its core, LYFE seeks to provide students with a holistic and realistic view of industry, helping to address pressing challenges such as school dropouts and an aging population. By engaging students early, the program ensures they gain valuable experience before entering the workforce, empowering them to make informed decisions about tertiary education and career choices.

SASTRA supports LYFE as a strategic partner, working collectively to strengthen New Zealand’s future workforce. Together, LYFE and SASTRA are committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders and social entrepreneurs who will not only contribute to the economy but also drive meaningful change in society.
